This stay takes you to the heart of the Iriki Lake region for a trek with 4 days of walking aimed at good walkers. Starting from Foum Zguid, you will walk at your own pace accompanied by a caravan of camels carrying all the necessary equipment. Encounters with the nomads will mark the highlights of this stay, surrounded by a warm atmosphere and friendly evenings after the days of walking.
PROGRAM (6 days, 5 nights)
Day 1
Foum Zguid – Jbel Gouira
Departure from Foum Zguid in a 4×4 along the track towards Jbel Gouira where we will spend the night in the dunes under tents, in the heart of nature.
Day 2
Jbel Gouira – Dunes Blanche
After breakfast, we will head towards Dunes blanche accompanied by the camel caravan for about 4 hours of walking, 20km. Upon arrival, we will set up the bivouac, you will enjoy your free time to rest, admire the landscapes and the sunset, then we will dine to music under the stars.
Day 3
Dunes Blanche – Erg Elmhazil
In the morning, we will head towards Erg Elmhazil, 15km away, which is about 5 hours of walking in the dunes. The camp will be set up in the hollow of the large dunes, in a wild setting. Our cook will prepare a good meal, to be savored while watching the stars, followed by a good nights sleep.
Day 4
Erg Elmhazil – Erg Elghoule
After breakfast, about 3 hours of walking will allow us to reach the oasis Grizim. There you can rest in the oasis. We will camp for the night near the nomads after beautiful moments of exchange and sharing.
Day 5
Homestay
Early departure towards the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi for a 14km walk, about 3 hours. We will arrive for lunch at our guest house, located right next to the village. Our guide will make you visit the oasis, the ksar, and the tomb of the marabout Sidi Abdenabi. Then, you can enjoy some well-deserved relaxation time around a tea. In the evening, you will dine around the fire and sleep at a locals home.
Day 6
Zaouait Sidi Abdenabi – Foum Zguid
After breakfast, you will return in a 4×4 to Foum Zguid, crossing the grandiose and varied landscapes of the Iriki lake to finish this stay amidst the beautiful colors of the ochre plateaus.
