You will venture into the heart of the desert where nights under the stars will make you appreciate the calm and beauty of the starry sky. Desert Trekking – Walk alongside the camel caravan
PROGRAM (4 days, 3 nights)
Day 1
Chegaga – Erg Elghoule
Leaving from Chegaga, accompanied by camels, we will head towards Erg Elghoule for about 5 hours of walking. You will have lunch on the way to regain strength. At the end of the day, we will set up our camp in the dunes to continue with dinner and a night under the stars, contemplating the sky and savoring the silence of the desert.
Day 2
Erg Elghoule – Erg Elmhazil
After breakfast, we will head towards Erg Elmhazil for a day of about 6 hours of walking. A lunch break will be offered in the shade of the tamarisk trees. We will set up camp in Erg Elmhazil for a second night under the celestial vault, preceded by a hearty dinner prepared by our nomadic cooks. A good nights sleep awaits you.
Day 3
Erg Elmhazil – Oasis Chebbi
Start the day with a good breakfast and then head towards Oasis Chebbi where in each Erg you will see that the landscapes vary, the dunes are different as well as the vegetation. It will take about 4 hours of walking in the desert.
Day 4
Oasis Chebbi – Foum Zguid
Admire the sunrise over the dunes and after breakfast, our 4×4 will drive you towards the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi to the north of the dried-up Iriki lake. There, we will make you visit the oasis, the old ksar, and the marabout. We will then head back to Foum Zguid, crossing the plains of the Iriki lake and making a stop at a fossil site. You will arrive in Foum Zguid with your head full of memories of the desert, its incredible landscapes, and its absolute serenity.
